Is EB-05 Heroines Edition Vol. 2 Worth Opening? Release Date, Box Price & Chase Cards
Hosted by Tako, our mascot · Published October 24, 2026 · Prices updated October 23, 2026 · How we price
Short answer
EB-05 Heroines Edition Vol. 2 releases on October 30, 2026 (in 6 days). Presale boxes cost $340.09, 184% above the $119.76 release price. That is already more than a sealed box of Vol. 1 (EB-03) costs today ($308.74), and a typical opened Vol. 1 box is worth just $83.54. Opening EB-05 at presale prices is a bet on chase cards most boxes never hit.

How much is an EB-05 booster box?
At Bandai's $4.99 a pack, a 24-pack box should cost $119.76. Presale boxes on TCGplayer sell for $340.09, 2.8 times that. Single packs go for about $20.08 each. Presale prices are shops guessing demand, and they can move a lot in the first weeks after release. A free price alert on the EB-05 box emails you if the price drops.
What are the EB-05 chase cards?
The most expensive EB-05 cards on TCGplayer right now. Many presale listings sit at round placeholder prices and the set's SP cards aren't all priced yet, so treat this as a first look, not a value.

How did Heroines Edition Vol. 1 and the other Extra Boosters do?
The best guide to EB-05 is what happened to the Extra Boosters before it. Box prices are today's TCGplayer market prices; opened values come from our simulation of 10,000 boxes with today's card prices (how we calculate this).
| Set | Released | Box today | vs MSRP | Typical box opened | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EB-01 Extra Booster: Memorial Collection | May 3, 2024 | $875.45 | — | $117.99 | Hold it |
| EB-02 Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection | May 9, 2025 | $782.09 | +553% | $189.50 | Hold it |
| EB-03 Extra Booster: One Piece Heroines Edition | February 20, 2026 | $308.74 | +158% | $83.54 | Hold it |
- Sealed Extra Boosters have climbed: every one of them sells above $119.76 today.
- Opening them has not paid: the typical opened box was worth less than the sealed box for 3 of 3 Extra Boosters.
- Vol. 2 starts where Vol. 1 is now: EB-05 presale ($340.09) vs EB-03 today ($308.74). Vol. 1 took eight months to get there; Vol. 2 starts there.
“vs MSRP” assumes the same $4.99 × 24-pack price for each set. We leave EB-01 out of that column because we haven't confirmed its launch price.
Should you preorder EB-05?
If you're buying to hold, the bet is that EB-05 follows Vol. 1 upward from a starting price that is already Vol. 1's current price. If you're buying to open for value, every earlier Extra Booster says the typical box loses money, and singles will be cheaper for any specific card you want. We'll add EB-05's opened value, verdict and pull data a few days after release.
